Food Loss

Food loss and waste is a growing problem in our modern society. About a third of food produced and distributed in world never gets eaten, a grossly inefficient use of resources that forces local governments into excessive costs for waste disposal, generates avoidable greenhouse gases at all stages of the production and distribution chain, and costs our economy up to USD 1 trillion annually.

food loss and waste affect the environment through:

  1. Greenhouse gas emissions
  2. Climate change
  3. Water
  4. Land occupation

On The way to the “Zero Food Waste”

What if there was a way to use emerging technologies such as nanotechnology and also bio polymeric packaging to extend the shelf-life of the food and fresh produces. In that way we can reduce the food waste and inhibit the  impact of food waste on water consumption , CO2 emission, Land occupation and climate change. So we can help the environment. It is also done by using biopolymeric active packaging instead of polymeric one.

Let’s reduce the food waste and produce less polymers
